Summary of Experience in Social Accounting and Audit

REAP have worked with Community Business Scotland Network to facilitate and deliver social audit training to three clusters of organisations in the North East of Scotland. The first cluster started in 2000 and included 8 organisations (including REAP), the second cluster started in 2002 and included 7 organisations and the third cluster which started in 2003 includes 7 organisations.

During this time REAP have produced threesets of social accounts, which has helped to shape the type of training and support offered to participants in our cluster groups based on our actual experiences of carrying out the process. REAP's most recent set of Social Accounts received a joint commendation for SME reporting (along with Traidcraft) from ACCA in 2008.

Rod Lovie has chaired an audit panel for a local transport project and has written social accounts for clients. It is REAPs intention to develop local capacity in social accounting.
