The Social Audit Network's Annual Gathering 2018 - SAN Presents... Understanding Poverty

This years SAN Conference took place on Wednesday 17th October 2018 at 54 St James Street, Liverpool, L1 0AB

Coinciding with the 26th anniversary of the UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and taking inspiration from this, SAN explored how social accounting and audit can be used to gain a better understanding of poverty, including:

• What poverty looks like in the UK in 2018, drawing inspiration from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation
• Exploring the international viewpoint; local learning from global activities
• Viewing poverty from the positions of a range of stakeholders – lived experiences, investors, funders and commissioners of services, researchers and service delivery
• Debating how social accounting and audit can be applied to better understand poverty
Here are some of the comments made by people who attended our recent conference in Liverpool.
• Very impressed at the variety of input from highly skilled attendees
• Really enjoyable
• I had expected more of a focus on the process of social accounting and audit, whilst the focus was much broader. In fact, it was interesting to put this into context and explore the need.
• Informative, relevant, interactive
• Brilliant, it has really enthused me
• Found it more useful than I expected

Our Conference featured a range of video presentations, many of which were created specially for SAN. Links are provided below so that you can view them via You Tube;
